Principal Partners
In 2009, Chad and Jodi Ray of Olde Heritage Builders knew the team they had in place to build new, green-certified homes was composed of the best people anywhere. They also knew that everyone wants more energy-efficient homes, not just the people building new homes from the ground up. There is a growing demand for qualified people to help families retrofit their existing homes. Today, it is possible to make every home healthier and more efficient. That was the dream behind Energy Savers of North Carolina.
What does that dream mean for you? It means a house that costs less to operate… has safer indoor air quality… requires less maintenance… leaves less of an environmental or “carbon” footprint… and brings a higher resale value immediately and for years to come.
Because that best green-building team was already in place, the Rays approached their core trade partners to make Energy Savers of North Carolina a reality. These individual companies are the four principal owners of Energy Savers of North Carolina. Each partner has more than 25 years experience in their respective fields, and they have a track record of providing unmatched service and support to their customers.
Together these principal partners make Energy Savers of North Carolina among the best home performance contracting companies in the country.
Don Stanley

His experience in testing and inspecting hundreds of homes has allowed him to join the team at Energy Savers of N.C. As a certified home energy rater and BPI building analyst and envelope professional, building science allows him to look beyond the obvious to solve problems. His methodology rests in creating solutions based upon whole house systems thinking.
He received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University. While at E.C.U., Don was able to intern with the National Association of Home Builders in Washington D.C. This ultimately sparked his passion for green building; seeing things done the right way. Other internships included working with Centex Homes, Pulte Homes, and a small custom home builder.
His passion for green building science and the environment accompanied with helping people and saving energy might let him never “work” another day in his life.
